Water & Sanitisation
Sanitation is the safe disposal of human waste, but 2.5 billion people – one in three of the world's population – do not have access to a decent toilet.
Without access to safe water for drinking, cooking and cleaning, people are more likely to suffer from water-related diseases. These can be fatal, killing over 1,400 children a day.
The time and energy required to fetch water, health impacts of using dirty water, also has a huge impact on people’s ability to work or get an education.
In the areas where Mercy 2 the World Trust works, poor communities often cannot access safe water locally, due to poor infrastructure.
Water is essential to life. Clean water is vital for drinking, growing food and keeping clean. A Person can only survive on average three days without water
and if the water they have us dirty and contaminated, fatal dieases spreadquickly and effects are devastating
When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: a continuing charity, beneficial knowledge and a child who prays for them.” (hadith of the Prophet ﷺ, narrated by Muslim)
Sadaqah jariyah - Ongoing charity – – is one of the most valuable acts we can do in this life, which continues benefiting us in the next, even after we have left the earth.
InshaAllah, we hope that our water projects are not only a continuing charity, providing water for years to come,
Mercy 2 the world Trust belieives water should be for life, so we build wells and water pumps this ensures the creation benefits from it in the long run for manay years to come
